Writing Behind the Scenes

Member benefits

Live Write-ins

Every month, gather together to share what you’re working on, set goals, and get writing. Get face-to-face with your favorite fellow writers and always have a date on the calendar where work will get done.

Writing Deadlines

Use our schedule to set up a regular writing practice for yourself. Every other month you have a writing deadline to submit your work for beta reader matchmaking, where you receive feedback from other writers.

Beta Reader Matchmaking

Hit that writing deadline by turning in your submission at the end of the month, then get paired up with another writer to give each other feedback. Turn in feedback-on-their-feedback to gain points and hold each other accountable.

Resource Library

Behind the scenes advice, info, and details about my writing process, as well as guided exercises for you and new workbooks each month with writing prompts, craft lessons, and more inspiration to keep you writing! Plus, 20% off asynchronous writing classes

Feedback + Accountability

Beta Reader Matchmaking

It can be difficult to get consistent eyes on your work when you need encouragement, next steps, or edits in order to make progress. People get busy and you can’t always maintain a consistent writing schedule when you’re waiting for feedback.

Welcome to Beta Reader Matchmaking.

This system of deadlines and accountability for members is an organized way to support your writing with a clear schedule and expectations for writers & readers.

Here’s how it works:

  1. At the end of the month, submit your writing along with a description of what type of feedback you want and your goals for the project.

  2. Get matched up with another reader. I’ll matchmake based on genre, length, and writing goals. Sometimes, reading outside your genre might be what’s helpful for you both!

  3. Get in touch with your writer match and make a plan to read + discuss each other’s work within the month

  4. Turn in your feedback-on-feedback. How did your reader do? What did they say that was helpful?

  5. I’ll tally up everyone’s feedback and give a point to each reader who successfully read their assigned pages that month. Here’s where the accountability comes in! When you get more points, you can get more readers and be part of a bigger reading group during the next round.

Get inspired, stay motivated, and learn alongside fellow dedicated writers who are invested in building their craft and making progress.

Take advantage of an ever-growing library of resources to get new writing fuel + craft lessons to move your projects forward consistently

How it Works

  1. Study + Set Goals

Start off the month by adding upcoming events to your calendar and decide what you’ll submit at the end. Plus, learn new craft practices & complete exercises from this month’s workbook

2. Live Write-in

Show up to the virtual writing space and share your goals, write together, ask questions, and hold each other accountable to make some progress!

4. Submit Your Work

Turn in your writing by the deadline and indicate what stage the project is at and what type of feedback you’re looking for so that you can get matched with a beta reader. Then, celebrate!

5. Read & Exchange Feedback

When you receive your beta reader match, decide how you want to give feedback (written, zoom meeting, comments). After you receive your feedback, submit a form sharing how your partner helped you so that you both get points for the following month!
